Late Night presentator Conan O'Brien zal naar Los Angeles, Californië verhuizen wanneer hij in 2009 The Tonight Show van Jay Leno zal overnemen.

Het is al lange tijd bekend dat Conan O'Brien in 2009 The Tonight Show van Jay Leno gaat presenteren, alleen was er nog veel onduidelijkheid over de locatie. Zou het op de huidige plek in Burbank opgenomen worden of in New York, waar Conan momenteel Late Night presenteert?

Nu lijkt er dan toch een beslissing gemaakt te zijn. Hoewel er namens Conan zelf niets concreets is bevestigd, valt er tussen de eerdere berichtgeving van vandaag over de verhuizing van NBC te lezen dat The Tonight Show in 2009 zal verhuizen naar een andere studio in het complex van Universal Studios, wat vlakbij Burbank ligt. Momenteel is The Tonight Show gevestigd in de NBC Burbank studios, echter gaan deze na 2009 in de verkoop.
Studio One op het terrein van Universal Studios zal het nieuwe thuis worden van The Tonight Show. De studio zal voor 2009 gerenoveerd en gereed worden gemaakt voor high defenition uitzendingen.

Over een eventuele opvolger van Conan O'Brien voor Late Night is nog niets bekend, hoewel volgens geruchten Jimmy Fallon, bekend van Saturday Night Live, tot een mogelijkheid behoort.

	Moving to LA seems the logical move, because it allows you to have bigger tv-stars on the show, but its a shame... Late Night and Conan himself seemed so rooted in that New York vibe, wonder if the same thing will happen in Los Angeles.

	it's a shame..conan IS new york..the main differentiation between leno in LA and 2 kick ass unique funny hosts like letterman and conan in new york is that new york is more "wordly" city with realer people, on east coast and a certian feel to it of specific comedy and aura and post 9-11..and LA is like a sleezy holywood, fake ppl dump (i dnt mean all ppl but in general) where plastic surgery, celebrities and fakeness rules all..its a shame but i bet u it wasnt conan's idea and he really has no say in the matter...like even the jokes and type of ppl that come to the shows are opposite...in new york its more..organic and historic and natural..whereas LA...i dunno...evrythings commercialized for ppl that live in their little "perfect american dream" world..i mean one would think it would be already tough for conan with the new audience cause diffrnt type of ppl watch conan and leno and it would already be a task to get the leno tonight show ppl (audience, watchers) to get into conans new thing now that hes taking over..but also conans show is abandoning that feel of new york and hes actually moving to LA..so its a new place as well where leno's show feel will be there for a while..instead of making new or improving current studios in new york and let the ppl who love the differentiated for real life feel, conan and letterman shows continue having the new york late night feel and all OTHER ppl in LA can join or get themselves some other new host to make jokes often suited to rich ppl as opposed to millions of real ppl that new york shows relate to..

	I totally agree, Conan is New York I am afraid that relocating might be a mistake!

	As a former Angelena, I agree that the move to Burbank is a mistake. The NY and CA vibes ARE different and Jay fits perfectly with the more laidback lifestyle. Carson wasn't so frenetic, nor Jack Paar, nor Steve Allen who began it all. The Tonight Show format and audience is simply not going to fit Conesy and his self-involved interviewing style, in particular. It's bad enough we're losing Leno, bringing Conan here is just pouring salt in the wound. Ah, well; er is niks te doen. I'll just be happy for the bazillion Conan-fans and their hero's big promotion. To each his own, huh?
